Legal Aid Society to Expand Services to the Treasure Coast

 

West Palm Beach, FL - The Area Agency on Aging of Palm Beach/Treasure Coast, Inc. is pleased to announce the expansion of the services of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County (Legal Aid) under the Older American’s Act.  Effective October 1, 2022, Legal Aid will provide services to the 5 counties including Palm Beach, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

Seniors and community agencies who serve seniors, who are in need of legal services after October 1, 2022 should be referred to Legal Aid at 561-655-8944 ext. 367. Legal Aid will provide a full range of legal services including eviction defense, financial exploitation of seniors prevention, will and advance directives, consumer cases and guardian advocacy matters.

Legal Aid is committed to providing high quality civil legal advice, representation and education to the disadvantaged in order to protect their personal safety, enhance their opportunities and living conditions, and promote self-sufficiency. The Legal Aid Society helps clients deal with many of life's most basic needs: a safe home, enough food to eat, a quality education, and protection against exploitation and discrimination. 

About the Area Agency on Aging

The Agency serves as a Gateway to services for seniors and operates a helpline that assists seniors with information and referral and navigating to services addressing activities of daily living and social determinants of health.  The Helpline may be reached by calling 1-866-684-5885, Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
